Federal Correctional Institution Bastrop is an administrative low-security prison for men located in Bastrop Texas. It has a minimum-security facility on the same overall property. The prison is on State Highway 95, eight miles north of the City of Bastrop. It is about a 40-minute drive, 30 miles, along State Highway 71 east from Austin, the capital city of the Lone Star State. Bastrop is in the southern part of the state.

Sending Pictures to FCI Bastrop

If you are interested in sending pictures to an inmate at the main prison or the satellite camp, you must follow the rules. While the Federal Bureau of Prison has rules for every facility, each prison also has its own set of rules unique to that prison. Photo Rules

FCI Bastrop has a set of rules for sending pictures to inmates. If you do not follow these regulations, your pictures will not be delivered. The prison may return them to you or destroy them, depending on what the images show.

The prison has a handbook for inmates at both facilities that spell out what inmates can and cannot have in pictures. Some of these regulations are:

• Pictures cannot show any nudity or suggestive or sexual content.
• Pictures cannot show violence, gang activity or gang symbols.
• Pictures not in a frame must be stored in the inmate’s locker or on the shelf in the cell.
• The warden and his staff have the right to decide if a picture violates the rules. if they decide the picture represents a threat to the security of the faulty or to the inmate, the pictures will not be delivered. If the inmate has such a picture in his possession, it will be confiscated.
• All incoming mail is opened and inspected before delivery. This includes any pictures you may send. If you do not want guards looking at the picture, do not send it.
